Hallowe’en is the perfect time of year for crafts! Get into the spirit with these five easy, mess-free crafts perfect for doing alongside your little ones, or letting them get on with it if they’re a bit older. 

Using simple materials like paper plates, popsicle sticks, and toilet paper rolls, these crafts are quick to create and even quicker to clean up, making them ideal for a spooky yet stress-free crafting session. 

Paper Plate Pumpkins

You’ll need: paper plates, orange paint or pens, black paper, glue stick.

Instructions: Paint or colour the paper plate orange. Cut out triangle shapes for the eyes and nose, and a mouth from black paper. Glue the shapes onto the plate to create a pumpkin face.

Lolly Stick Spiders

You’ll need: Black paint or markers, googly eyes, glue, black pipe cleaners, lolly sticks.

Instructions: Paint or colour the lolly sticks black. Glue two sticks in an "X" shape. Attach small pieces of pipe cleaner to make legs, and glue googly eyes on top.

Toilet Paper Roll Bats

You’ll need: Toilet paper rolls, black paint pens, googly eyes, black paper, glue.

Instructions: Paint or color the toilet paper roll black. Cut out bat wings from the paper and glue them to the back. Add googly eyes to the front for the bat’s face.

Ghost Lollipops

Supplies: Lollipops, white tissue paper, black pen, ribbon or string.

Instructions: Cover the lollipop with white tissue paper, securing it at the neck with a ribbon or string. Draw two black eyes on the tissue paper for a simple ghost.

Halloween Handprint Art

You’ll need: Non-toxic paint, paper, pens.

Instructions: Paint your child’s hand with washable paint and stamp it on paper. Turn handprints into ghosts, spiders, or monsters by adding eyes or details with markers.
